Roundtable AI Led Banking

Roundtable

18 September 2025

AI adoption is rapidly transforming financial services, from banking to insurance to capital markets. But with opportunity comes complexity. How do leaders balance innovation with trust, personalisation with privacy, and automation with oversight?

Together with senior professionals from the financial sector, banking, insurance, and related fields, we will explore the strategic and ethical questions surrounding the use of AI in the future of finance.

AI-dilemma’s

Transparency vs. Black Box Decision-Making : AI models, especially those based on deep learning, often operate as “black boxes,” making it difficult for banks to explain or justify decisions to customers, regulators, or even internal stakeholders. This lack of transparency can erode trust and complicate compliance with regulatory standards that require explainability.

Privacy vs. Personalization: AI in banking uses large amounts of personal and financial data to personalize services and spot fraud. But this creates privacy concerns and risks of data misuse. Banks must balance using data for innovation with protecting customers’ privacy.

Dependence on AI vs. Human in the loop: Relying too much on AI can lead to missed mistakes or bad decisions that humans might have caught. It’s a constant challenge to balance automation with human judgment.
